First of all, before we understand the reasons, we must first understand the core components of the oil treatment in the air compressor. The oil and gas separation element (hereinafter referred to as the oil separator) is an important part of the oil-lubricated rotary air compressor and vacuum pump. The oil and compressed air in the oil and gas mixture are separated, so that the oil returns to the oil circulation system, thereby reducing the oil content of the outlet gas. The most common application of oil is in the oil-injected screw air compressor. We will discuss the application in this regard.

Generally, the oil content requirement for the oil-injected screw air compressor is that the residual oil content of the outlet compressed air after the oil content treatment is not more than 3ppm (the oil content is not more than 3mg/m3). Excessive oil content in the outlet air of an air compressor is usually referred to as high fuel consumption, commonly known as running oil. It is a headache problem that has plagued manufacturers, sellers and users for a long time, and it is also one of the most common failure phenomena. If the air compressor runs out of oil, it will not only pollute the post-processing equipment (such as dryers and precision filter elements), but also affect the quality of the products produced by users, and even cause varying degrees of damage to some production equipment.

So how to detect the phenomenon of high fuel consumption and oil running of the air compressor? It should start from the following aspects:

1. First, eliminate the phenomenon of oil leakage or oil leakage on the outside of the pipe fittings of the machine.

2. Whether the oil level of the machine has dropped significantly, observe the oil level indicator line under the same working environment, for example, under the same load of 7bar, whether the oil level has changed before and after the time, or observe the oil level after stopping for ten minutes Is there a difference.

3. For a machine equipped with a water separator, take a sample from the water separator drain, drain the water and place it in a clean container (cup or mineral water bottle), and then settle for about five minutes, and then observe whether it is a bit or It is the oil film-like oil that accumulates on the surface of the container. Under normal circumstances, there are only a few thin colorful oily flowers when observing against the light. Before sedimentation, the sampled water may appear milky white, which is normal. For machines that are not equipped with a water separator, you can observe the drainage status of the air storage tank, and compare with the previous normal situation, whether the discharged water carries more oil.

Through the above steps of testing, we can determine whether the air compressor has problems with fuel running and high fuel consumption based on the results.
